Manager, FP&A (Retirement Homes) Location: Vaughan (4 days in office) Employment Type: Full-Time, newly created role About the Opportunity Recruiting on behalf of one of our clients, a rapidly growing operator in the retirement home sector, is seeking a hands-on Manager, FP&A This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, growth-oriented organization where you will play a critical role in strengthening financial processes, improving reporting timelines, and supporting ongoing expansion. The Role Reporting directly to the VP Financial Services, you will take ownership of your own portfolio of long-term care facilities. You will be responsible for the strategic financial leadership and reporting oversight. Supports the finance team in the preparation of the monthly financial statements for presentation to the Vice President, Financial Services. Support the Vice President in the development of dashboards and KPI tools to monitor organizational performance. Review and prepare the variance analysis for the monthly income statements (budget vs actual). Work with the Systems & FP&A Analyst to identify trends, risks, and opportunities impacting financial performance. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to the Vice President, Financial Services. Support the annual budget process. Support internal and external audit requirements. Support the onboarding of new homes onto our financial and operational platforms. Review and validate financial data for accuracy and completeness. Ensure statutory, regulatory and internal reporting requirements are met. Provide guidance, mentorship and leadership to the Finance team, fostering professional growth and high performance. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience Must have experience working with Long-term care facilities 5-10+ years of hands-on accounting experience Experience with month-end close and financial reporting CPA designation is not required Technical Skills Strong financial reporting and reconciliation skills Experience preparing and analysing budgets Comfortable working with accounting systems (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, similar) Key Attributes Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy Practical, “roll-up-the-sleeves” mindset Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced environment Work Environment Primarily in-office role (4–5 days/week) Flexibility for occasional remote work (e.g., month-end deadlines) Flexible schedule options; outcome-focused environment Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary (anticipated range: $100,000 – $120,000, based on experience) Employer-supported RSP matching programme Comprehensive medical benefits Dental coverage (shared premium) Why This Role?
