Senior Helpers Surrey East is looking for a Japanese-speaking Caregiver/Companion to join our team and provide compassionate, reliable support to seniors in their homes and communities. The ideal candidate is fluent in Japanese and English, enjoys connecting with older adults, and understands the importance of meaningful conversation, companionship, and culturally appropriate support. Key Responsibilities Provide personal care support (bathing, dressing, toileting) Provide companionship and friendly conversation in Japanese and English. Engage clients in activities that are meaningful and enjoyable to them. Assist with light meal preparation and household tasks as needed. Provide reminders and support with daily routines. Observe and report changes in a client's physical, cognitive, or emotional well-being. Maintain a respectful, professional, and compassionate relationship with clients and their families. Support clients in maintaining their independence, dignity, and quality of life. Qualifications Fluent in spoken Japanese and English. Previous experience working with seniors is an asset. Caregiving, HCA, PSW or similar experience is an asset. Patient, compassionate, reliable, and personable. Comfortable working independently in a client's home. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Valid criminal record check and TB test First Aide Certification The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Warm, friendly, and naturally conversational. Someone who genuinely enjoys spending time with older adults. Japanese language skills are highly valued as we support clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Requirements

Candidates must be fluent in both Japanese and English and possess First Aid certification. Previous experience in caregiving (HCA, PSW) and a valid criminal record check and TB test are required or preferred.
