We are currently looking for a Carpenter to join our site in Ottawa. The role will perform a variety of residential construction-related duties to support the delivery of project schedules. The Carpenter must have working knowledge of the residential construction industry and uphold the highest safety standards while on the job. Your contribution to the team includes: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications. Construct frameworks, structures, and fixtures using various materials. Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join wood and other materials. Build or assist in back framing, stair forming and site amenities Install windows, doors, flooring, and cabinetry. Perform concrete formwork, framing, and finishing work. Inspect and ensure quality and safety standards are met. Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently. Train and supervise apprentices and helpers. Collaborate with other trades and construction professionals. Troubleshoot construction issues and provide solutions. Adhere to workplace safety regulations and use personal protective equipment (PPE). Perform other duties as required What you need to be successful: 2 years’ experience in wood frame residential construction Demonstrated knowledge of all building techniques, blueprints, and building codes Red Seal Certification Strong technical and problem-solving skills. Established excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and manage projects.
