Additional Benefits Include Approximate hourly wage: $19.36 - $21.60 Free onsite parking Access to thousands of perks vendors and discounts through our WorkPerks program, including excellent discounts for apparel, restaurants, technology, fitness, travel, and tickets to some of your favorite sports and entertainment events Access to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of Excellence Opportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Recognition and Rewards for service excellence and safety About The Opportunity Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment Assists in the provision of social, spiritual, and intellectual activities for residents Cleans resident rooms, server and household common areas Check laundry for tears, holes, missing buttons, etc. and repair as required or inform Supervisor if permanent damage Monitor, fill and replenish supplies in resident’s suites, nursing units, and washrooms Empties/cleans waste bins in resident’s suites – move waste to designated trash area Ensure personal health and safety by taking every reasonable precaution in all circumstances Understand role, and participate in the testing process for emergency response Follows safety, environmental and infection control practices as per facility policies Provides input for Wellness Consultation meetings as requested Reports areas and equipment in need of repair to a supervisor Participates in the resident and employee incident reporting and investigation process as required Completing all duties in a way which is consistent with Shannex’s Philosophy of Service: Your life. Your Home Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor Additional duties as assigned/required About You In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring: High school diploma or equivalent Home/Personal Support Worker program, Special Care Home program, Health Care Aide or Human Services program, or equivalent Ability to assess and prioritize multiple work assignments while displaying a high level of professionalism and commitment to quality service Adheres to the Standards of Nursing Practice, Code of Ethics, Registered Nurses Act and Regulations as defined by provincial legislation Current knowledge of community resources (e.g., services and programs), and roles of health care professionals Able to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays Education in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care is considered an asset Completed Back in Form Lift and Transfer Program is considered an asset Proof of valid CPR & First Aid Certification is considered an asset Successful candidates will be required to obtain a clear Criminal Record Check, and where applicable, a Vulnerable Sector Check, prior to appointment.

Requirements
