The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Under the general direction of the Manager of Diagnostic Services (or designate), the incumbent: Provides reception and clerical support for the department. Provides Administrative support as required. Experience Experience in general office procedures is required. Previous experience using the Radiology Information System (RIS) preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Complete high school education, Manitoba Standards, required. Completion of a recognized course in Medical Terminology is required. Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable Qualifications And Skills Ability to effectively type at a minimum of 30 wpm in a VGH typing test. Effective English communication skills (both oral and written) and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Must have good organizational skills, be able to prioritize demands and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously. Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy. Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and maintain a positive working relationship with various levels of personnel, both internally and externally, and within an inter-disciplinary environment. Demonstrated ability to perform the position on a regular basis. Proficiency in keyboarding and "windows based" computers system is required. Physical Requirements Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time without resting. Must be able to bend, reach, lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds. Must be able to function effectively in a stressful environment with frequent interruptions. May be asked to escort mobile patients to other areas of the hospital.
