Employment Opportunity Sheridan Nurseries Mississauga is actively searching for a: Point of Sale Assistant Seasonal Contract About the Job: The Point of Sale (POS) Assistant will assist our retail warehouse, office staff, and department sales supervisors with data entry and administration, including inputting product invoices and receiving slips into our database, making electronic inventory adjustments, and submitting claims for damaged, defective, or short shipped product. The POS Assistant contributes to the success of Sheridan’s retail operations through accurate electronic entry and administration of the inventory receivables and purchase orders in our POS system. Your Accountabilities: Assists with data entry for all store-level product inventory, ensuring accuracy and efficiency standards are met while minimizing errors or oversights. Accurately processes, completes, and organizes appropriate paperwork regarding invoices, returns, inventory corrections, credits, and other items or services. Provides exceptional customer service to our guests in all aspects, including answering phone and email inquiries and assisting as a cashier when required. Be familiar with the role and responsibilities of the store cashiers to serve as a back-up if required. Participates with the store team in achieving all aspects of service excellence, store readiness, cleanliness, and compliance with all Sheridan Nurseries policies. Actively seek to familiarize and increase product knowledge in all areas to assist with answering guest inquiries. Strives to promote the best interests of Sheridan Nurseries consistently in all aspects of the business. Other duties as assigned by Management, including phone answering and e-commerce administration. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have completed high school or equivalent and be legally eligible to work in Canada. Detail oriented with a commitment to achieving 100% accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, handling multiple demands, setting priorities, and having strong troubleshooting skills. Highly flexible with effective organizational and communication skills. Previous experience with data entry, receiving, and/or as a cashier in a retail environment. You are punctual and dependable, and highly value honesty, integrity, and authenticity. Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
