Overview Journeyperson Electrician – Utilities Project-Based - Saskatchewan - Candidates across Western Canada About the Opportunity Shermco Canada is seeking safety-focused Journeyperson Electricians - Utilities for project-based opportunities at a worksite in Saskatchewan. We welcome qualified candidates from across Western Canada who are comfortable travelling to the project site and working rotational schedules. This opportunity is well suited to experienced electricians with utility construction, maintenance, or industrial experience who value safety, teamwork, and high-quality workmanship. Shermco’s Electrical Services team delivers electrical construction, maintenance, testing, and specialty solutions to clients across the utility, mining, oil and gas, technology, and industrial sectors. What We Offer Various rotational schedules, with shifts typically ranging from 10 to 12 hours per day Paid travel time and overtime after eight hours per weekday Project accommodations or living-out allowance, as applicable Competitive compensation and overtime opportunities Company-matched Registered Retirement Savings Plan Vacation pay starting at three weeks per year, equivalent to 6% of annual income Technical, safety, and career-development training Company-provided power tools, specialty tools, personal protective equipment, and flame-resistant/arc-flash-rated workwear Winter gear, rain gear, and an annual boot allowance Company vehicle, cellphone allowance, laptop, and related equipment, where required for the assignment Employee social activities through the Shermco Social Club Responsibilities Perform utility construction, maintenance, alterations, and repairs, including: Greenfield and brownfield utility construction Oil-filled circuit breaker replacements Switch construction and maintenance Utility relay replacements Work safely in utility and industrial environments, including around energized power and control equipment. Interpret drawings, specifications, and work requirements to determine appropriate materials and installation methods. Complete installations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code, project specifications, and Shermco safety and quality standards. Maintain accurate construction, maintenance, inspection, and quality documentation. Mentor and coach apprentices and other team members to support safe, efficient, and high-quality work. Participate in field audits, inspections, proactive safety reporting, and leading-indicator activities. Perform all duties to the standard expected of a qualified Journeyperson Electrician. Comply with Shermco’s alcohol and drug policy and all project-specific safety requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Red Seal endorsement or recognized Interprovincial Journeyperson Electrician certification Two to five years of utility or industrial electrical experience is preferred Experience operating equipment such as skid steers, telehandlers, and aerial work platforms is an asset Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Valid driver’s licence and acceptable driver’s abstract Ability and willingness to travel to the Saskatchewan project site and work assigned rotational schedules Ability to work extended shifts and meet the physical requirements of field-based electrical work Equal Opportunity and Accommodation Shermco Canada is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and maintaining an inclusive workplace.
