We deliver patient support programs, provide physicians with resources to manage complex patients, facilitate reimbursement, and enhance therapy adherence. Through strong collaboration across retail, centralized support teams, and external partners, we improve healthcare outcomes and elevate the specialty experience across the country. As specialty continues to grow in scale and complexity, strong operational leadership and performance governance are critical to ensuring retail teams are supported and patients receive timely access to therapy. Director, Specialty Practice Excellence Reporting to the Senior Director, Specialty Retail & Pharmacy Operations, the Director, Specialty Practice Excellence will be responsible for executing a value driven pharmacy experience for specialty patients and clients within our retail network by collaborating with enterprise and SHN teams. Focus will be on developing Pharmacy expertise and best practices while evolving a compliant, innovative, Specialty in Retail strategy. Key Accountabilities: Oversee and support the Centre of Excellence quality program, including certifications and Specialty Practice audits. Accountable for clinical and regulatory accuracy of program documents and processes. Develop strategic messaging and communication for key stakeholders, including presentations, memos and content development. Oversee Pharmacy training plans for new and existing specialty programs. Work collaboratively with enterprise teams to ensure compliant implementation of strategic initiatives related to specialty pharmacy practice. Perform regular root cause analysis and support remediation plan development and execution related to pharmacy escalations and medication incidents. Evaluate regulatory, legal and compliance implications of evolving technologies by working closely with enterprise teams to drive innovative pharmacy related services offerings. Collaborate with SDM Professional Services, Pharmacy Operations, Digital, and other enterprise stakeholders to integrate enterprise service offering into the specialty patient journey at SDM. Lead process documentation and SOP/ROP development as required. Act as specialty practice expert and provide consultations as required for enterprise strategic initiatives. Monitor the evolving pharmacist scope of practice and implement new scope into patient support program offering as required. Participate in business development activities as required. What You Will Need Preferably a Registered Pharmacist in good standing with Ontario College of Pharmacists. Minimum of seven (7) years of combined experience in pharmacy, pharma or healthcare Experience leading strategic initiatives related to quality, compliance and/or pharmacy best practice Strong ability to influence and negotiate Excellent verbal and written communication skills Effective and engaging content developer and speaker for oral presentations Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong relationships across the enterprise Successful track record of leading change without authority Strong working knowledge of pharmacy processes and systems at SDM, LCL and PHX Knowledgeable of national and provincial pharmacy standards of practice Proficient in MS Office applications Flexible and adaptable to changes of responsibility reflective of the business needs Patient Support Program experience preferred Experience with Pharmacy software systems or CRM preferred MBA or lean manufacturing certification considered an asset Previous experience managing large and diverse teams Proven track record of delivering results Business and financial skills Proven ability to coach, train and mentor staff Ability to work within a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment and make timely and effective decisions Excellent problem-solving skills, conflict resolution and negotiating skills Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to make connections at all levels of the organization Leadership presence, with confidence to engage and influence cross-functional and executive leadership Ability to work collaboratively with diverse operations and cross-functional teams Excellent influencing, planning and project management skills Understanding of Adult Learning principles considered an asset Self-motivated and resilient, with a positive attitude and high energy level Why work at Shoppers Drug Mart? Requirements
