All of that purpose guides how we work, how we make decisions, and how we grow. The Role As a House Leader, you will provide both direct support and leadership within residential services. You will oversee the day-to-day operations of a home, mentor and support employees, and help ensure individuals receive high-quality, person-centred supports that promote independence, choice, and meaningful community participation. Working closely with Community Managers, you will coordinate supports, monitor service quality, assist with staffing and administrative responsibilities, and help individuals work toward their personal goals while living meaningful lives within their communities. How You'll Make a Difference Leading and supporting a team of Direct Support Workers Providing coaching, mentorship, and day-to-day guidance to employees Ensuring individuals receive high-quality, person-centred support Coordinating and monitoring individual support plans and goals Advocating for the rights, choices, and preferences of supported individuals Building positive relationships with families, community partners, and external agencies Participating in recruitment, onboarding, and employee development Assisting with scheduling, payroll administration, and staffing coordination Monitoring documentation, finances, and program requirements Facilitating team meetings and promoting effective communication Supporting crisis prevention, intervention, and problem-solving Maintaining compliance with agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements Providing direct support to individuals as required What You Need to Be Successful Proof of legal eligibility to work in Canada will be required as part of the recruitment and onboarding process Post-secondary education in Disability and Community Support, Social Services, Human Services, or a related field Must be legally eligible to work in Canada with continuous status 2–3 years of experience supporting adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities Previous leadership, supervisory, or mentorship experience preferred Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Experience coaching and supporting employees Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Proficiency with computers and workplace technology Ability to work independently and collaboratively A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence Reliable access to a personal vehicle Ability to travel between locations as required Extended Background Checks Including the Following Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search Adult Abuse Registry Check Child Abuse Registry Check Current First Aid and CPR Certification What Success Looks Like You will help create an environment where individuals feel safe, respected, empowered, and included while ensuring employees have the support and guidance needed to provide excellent service. House Leaders can expect a combination of leadership, administrative, and direct support responsibilities. Additional hours may occasionally be required to support operational needs, employee development, or emergency situations. Direct Reports Direct Support Workers Compensation Starting wage: $22.60 per hour Work Location South-Eastern Manitoba Applicants should be comfortable commuting to communities located southeast of Winnipeg. Requirements
Candidates must have post-secondary education in a human services field and 2–3 years of experience supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle are required for travel between locations.
