Job Description The Sioux Lookout Regional Physician Services Inc. (SLRPSI) is currently recruiting for contract/locum Internal Medicine Physicians, FRCPC with or without subspecialty. SLRPSI provides a competitive earning opportunity, a progressive and collegial team of family physicians and other physician specialists (Pediatricians, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynecology), and a state-of-the art community hospital (Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre - SLMHC). Our beautiful, fully accredited hospital – Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre - has 60 beds for inpatient medicine, a 24/7 emergency department with approximately 20,000 visits per year. The state-of-the art hospital houses a robust surgical, diagnostic imaging (including CT and echocardiograms), rehabilitation (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, etc.), stroke prevention & cardiac rehab programs, including stress testing, pulmonary function testing and an obstetrical department, including an integrated prenatal program. Sioux Lookout/Northern Communities The Sioux Lookout area has a population of approximately 5,839 people and is the main health hub for 31 remote First Nations communities north of Sioux Lookout. Many of the northern communities are only accessible by air, with a population of more than 32,000 people. Sioux Lookout is known as the “Hub of the North” as we are a lead provider of multiple services including healthcare.

Provide internal medicine services within a community hospital setting, including the emergency department. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of specialists to deliver healthcare to the local population and remote First Nations communities.

Candidates must be FRCPC certified Internal Medicine Physicians, with or without a subspecialty. The role is open to those seeking contract or locum positions.
