Requisition ID: 78257 Description Skyworks Solutions is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative university student for a RF Systems Co-Op position within its RF, Mixed-signal, Intelligence Solutions business unit, located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This candidate will join a diverse team of systems engineers assisting in the planning, specification, and characterization of wireless solutions for Wi-Fi applications. This position will provide the student with a well-rounded introduction to the RF system blocks and the tools used to evaluate such systems and suits individuals seeking a career in the field of RF system design and specification. Skyworks is a world-class, vertically integrated company with manufacturing capabilities in RF semiconductors, acoustic filters, packaging, and test. The candidate will be involved in all aspects of product realization and work with an extended cross-site team to validate and deliver high-performance RF products from concept to high-volume markets. Term: 12-month Co-Op (May '27 - April '28) Responsibilities Support development of next-generation wireless systems and enhancements to existing products Contribute to the development of a state-of-the-art network simulator covering cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, and other emerging technologies Use Keysight Advanced Design System (ADS), Matlab, and Python for RF Systems design tasks Create and maintain documentation for internally developed tools to ensure clarity and usability for internal users Execute RF testing using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators to collect data for system specification and validation Design and develop internal engineering tools using MATLAB and Python to support analysis, simulation, automation, and workflow efficiency Required Experience And Skills Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field Passion for RF, wireless, or communications technologies Familiar with lab equipment and fundamental RF/system principles Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience with Matlab and Python Ability to work onsite in our Ottawa location 5 days/week Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills Desired Experience And Skills Driven to meet deadlines without compromising on quality Coursework in RF communication, control systems, and signals and systems Meticulous technical documentation authoring, reviewing, and editing skills Experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and common design patterns Knowledge of databases and database management is an asset Experience with Ansys EM simulation tools is an asset The typical pay range for an intern is currently CAD $25.00 - $44.00 per hour.
