Senior Accountant - Quality Compensation: Range $75,000 - $85,000/year Overview Smythe LLP is seeking an Audit Quality Specialist to support our Assurance practice in maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement. This role is ideal for someone with a strong audit foundation who enjoys technical research, process improvement, and collaborating with teams across the firm. Working closely with partners, managers, and engagement teams, you will help support the firm’s quality management processes, contribute to internal training and guidance materials, and assist with monitoring compliance with professional standards and internal policies. Your day-to-day * Support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the firm’s quality management processes and internal policies * Assist with internal file inspections and quality review procedures * Help develop and maintain templates, guidance documents, and technical resources for Assurance teams * Support engagement teams with audit methodology and compliance-related questions * Monitor updates to accounting and assurance standards and assist with communicating changes internally * Assist with the preparation and delivery of internal training sessions and technical presentations * Identify opportunities to improve processes, consistency, and efficiency across the practice * Participate in special projects and firm-wide quality initiatives * Collaborate with partners, managers, and staff across multiple service areas What we’re looking for * CPA designation or working toward completion of the CPA program * 3 to 5 years of public practice audit or assurance experience * Strong understanding of Auditing Standards and financial reporting frameworks (such as ASPE, ASNPO, ASPP, and IFRS) * Interest in audit quality, professional standards, technical research, and process improvement * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail * Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams * Experience with CaseWare and audit methodology tools is considered an asset What Smythe offers At Smythe, we strive to offer a competitive salary and benefits package that accurately reflects our people’s values and ambitions.
