We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting & Policies. This position is based out of our office in Mississauga, ON. As the Senior Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting and Policies you are an integral part of the company’s Finance team and will support financial reporting close activities for complex accounting and accounting policy research including preparation of recommendations and/or reporting materials. In this role, you will report to the Director Finance, Accounting Standards & Policies and will be a key member of the CFO Organization. We are looking for an experienced analyst who is willing to dive into the details and looking to grow their career in Financial Reporting and Policies. Here's where you'll be focusing: Support the implementation of complex IFRS accounting standards and disclosures Research accounting guidance and provide timely interpretation and direction on complex accounting issues Development of position papers to support the Company’s financial reporting Responsible for accurate and complete working papers and documentation Collaborate with various functional teams to support appropriate financial reporting Quarterly technical review of financial statements and disclosures and other public disclosure documents Preparation and updates to various financial policies that impact financial reporting Preparation and coordination of quarterly audit committee materials Collaborate and support external reporting and other accounting functions as needed Oversee preparation of supplemental reports for external reporting disclosures for quarterly and annual reporting as needed Support on ad hoc projects as needed Actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities for various processes Provide excellent level of customer service to all levels of the business Communicate effectively with functional area managers and employees What you have to offer: Minimum 3-5 years working experience in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field University degree MBA or Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field Accounting designation (e.g. CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) preferred Proficient in Excel and Excel-based financial modelin Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) Experience using Microsoft Copilot considered an asset SAP skills considered an asset Experience in Financial Planning and Analysis considered an asset Strong analytical skills to obtain accurate and quality analytics Excellent communication skills (both Oral and Written) to communicate to relevant stakeholders Ability to work in a deadline driven environment, and under limited supervision #LI-CF2 #LI-Hybrid Who we are Sobeys is one of Canada’s leading grocery retailers, with more than 1,600 stores across all 10 provinces and banners including Sobeys, Safeway, IGA, Foodland, FreshCo, Thrifty Foods, and Lawtons Drug Stores.
