Overview The human resources and payroll clerk is responsible for employee payroll processing. They are also responsible for performing various administrative duties and monitoring human resource files. This position usually requires a vocational diploma in office automation or administration and more than two years of relevant experience. Responsibilities Produce working time and clock-in reports and make corrections as requested by managers. Record salary costs and produce weekly sales reports. Estimate the projected budget based on hours, salaries and hourly rates. Enter employee data and keep employee records up to date. Track salary increases. Enter schedules in the system. Ensure that paid employee hours are accurate. Record expense claims. Inform employees of and enrol them in group insurance plans. Check group insurance invoices. Configure the payroll system in collaboration with the Sobeys Payroll Department. Calculate vacation leave balances and produce year-end statements. Draft and monitor OHS cases. Monitor union files (if applicable). Monitor training legislation. Onboard new employees. Post job offers, screen applications and schedule interviews for clerk positions. Perform any other related duties. Qualifications You have a vocational diploma in office automation or administration. You have at least two years of experience in office automation, including one year in payroll processing. You are computer literate. You have good data entry speed. You foster communication and team spirit. You can perform basic accounting operations. You are organized, self-motivated, methodical and able to work under pressure.
