Job summary

Job Summary: Reporting to the Manager, Product & Process Development, the Product & Processing Specialist will be responsible for delivering operational excellence across the business, driving TPM, Lean and OEE methodologies across a multi-plant network. This position will be accountable for Continuous Improvement initiatives and spearheading Sofina’s Blueprint with a critical focus on Product Optimization, Process Reliability, Plant Capacity and building capability of plant personnel. Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, a mindset of continuous improvement, and communication and mentorship skills are essential to succeed in this role. Key Responsibilities: Lead process optimization projects across the organization to help drive organization’s key performance indicators. Drive a relentless focus on development of Manufacturing Standards and daily management systems to ensure sustainable business performance – including the Training and Qualification of Equipment Operators. Leadership to deliver step-change improvement in reliability of manufacturing systems while optimizing production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs and changeovers. Preparing reports and charts based on findings and recommendations. Work with equipment designers and manufacturing officers to develop a cost-effective and working production process. Develop and implement processes that optimize all phases of production process. Work closely with Engineers, Plant Maintenance, QA, R&D, and Operations to ensure all requirements are met. Other duties and special projects as assigned. Requirements: University level Engineering graduate 2-3 years of relevant experience in production, engineering, product or process improvement in the food manufacturing industry. Strong interest in the manufacturing industry Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Ability to create relationships, and effectively communicate internally and externally at all levels within the organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Applications (MS Word, Advanced MS Excel) Strong Interpersonal Skills Strong analytical skills – ability to interpret results and recommend actions and initiatives for improvement. Highly organized and strong attention to detail Lean training and/or accreditation a plus. Job Posting Range: Hiring Range: CAD $64,393 - $92,082 Bonus: This position is eligible for a bonus up to 8% of base salary subject to the plan terms and conditions. Please note that the expected hiring range provided is derived from a group of like roles within Sofina. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on geographical region, applicable experience, skillset of the candidate and internal equity. This position is currently an active vacancy.
