Job summary
Position Summary Reporting to the Plant Superintendent, the Shipping Supervisor is responsible for loading and unloading product into and from trucks, records maintenance (rotations, time keeping, and quality), completing invoices and arranging transportation. Position organizes and warehouses freezers, coolers and the shipping dock area and is accountable for the supervision and training of shipping staff. Accountable for managing inbound loads from sister plants and vendors, including export loads for the Calgary, Edmonton South and Edmonton North facilities. Position may work shift work, when required. Maintain a clean and organized workplace for safety and quality. Work Schedule: 6:00am – 3:00pm (Mon to Fri) Key Accountabilities: Accountable to accurately and efficiently perform duties to prepare quality poultry products for delivery to our customers; Accountable to accurately maintain shipping records; Accountable for the effective supervision and training of shipping staff; ensuring all tasks are completed to specification; Accountable to ensure a safe working environment for employees, customers and visitors, and the maintenance all mobile equipment (power jacks, forklifts, and transport units); Accountable to maintain warehouse operational standards; Implementing production, productivity, quality and customer service standards; Able to perform discipline as required; Other duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum Grade 12 education; a post-secondary diploma; Min 3 years of shipping experience, preferably within the food industry or a Distribution Center environment; Previous supervisory or team leadership experience mandatory; Strong working knowledge of shipping operations and processes; Forklift experience and/or a valid forklift license is considered an asset; Basic computer proficiency, including experience with (CSB, TMS, Outlook, Excel, Word); Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally, and in writing.

Requirements
