Job summary

Train to Become a Canadian Certified Pedorthist — SoleScience, London ON Full-time · Paid training · A clear path to certification The role You know how the body moves — biomechanics, anatomy, gait, injury. Pedorthics is where that knowledge meets your hands: assessing how someone walks, then designing, building, and fitting the custom orthotics, footwear, and compression that get them moving comfortably again. We're hiring a Kinesiology graduate (or final-year student) who wants to build a career in pedorthics. No pedorthics experience needed — you'll learn side by side with our experienced pedorthists at our Maitland Street clinic and lab in London, Ontario, while you earn your certification through the Post-Graduate Diploma in Pedorthics at Western University (next intake: September 2027). And you'll learn it end to end: both traditional hand-made orthotic design and fabrication and modern digital workflows — CAD/CAM design, milling, and 3D printing. Who we are Since 2002, SoleScience has built its reputation on one idea: your body isn't a problem to fix — it's a system to understand. Founded by Dr. Colin Dombroski (Ph.D., C. Ped (C)), we're a team of Canadian Certified Pedorthists, lab technicians, and footwear specialists who make custom orthotics in our own London lab — using both time-tested hand fabrication and digital CAD/CAM design, milling, and 3D printing. We're known among referring physicians as the clinic that will tell patients honestly whether they even need orthotics — because doing right by the patient always comes first. As a Western Continuing Studies placement partner, supporting people through exactly this path is something we already do well. We're a team that takes learning seriously, isn't afraid to do things a little differently, and genuinely enjoys the work. What you'll do • Assess and advise patients on orthotics, footwear, bracing, and compression • Run gait assessments as part of our GAiT Profile process • Build custom orthotic devices in our in-house lab — from hand fabrication to CAD/CAM milling and 3D printing • Fit, adjust, and follow up so every patient reaches their goal • Keep accurate, professional patient records It's a hands-on, on-your-feet role in a friendly, detail-driven environment. Who you are • A Kinesiology graduate or final-year student ready to pursue pedorthics (science grads without a Kin degree may qualify via Western's four-month bridging program — ask us) • Someone who genuinely likes people and likes helping them • Reliable, takes initiative, and sweats the details • Confident with computers and quick to pick up new software — comfortable working across both Mac and PC • Shares our patient-first, honest, education-focused values What we offer • Salary: $50,000–$60,000 per year • Paid, structured training toward your Canadian Certified Pedorthist designation • Tuition reimbursement for the Western diploma, based on years served after graduation • Group benefits through a Healthcare Spending Account • Professional dues covered — we pay your Pedorthic Association of Canada and College of Pedorthics of Canada memberships • After one year: the option of a 36-hour work week, paid as 40 • A close-knit, supportive team and a career with real room to grow Details • Type: Full-time, permanent • Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM • Location: In person — SoleScience, 627 Maitland St, London, Ontario How to apply Send your resume and a short note about why pedorthics interests you to [email protected]. Curious but have questions first? Reach out anyway — we're happy to tell you more about the field and what a day here looks like. SoleScience is an equal opportunity employer. We thank all applicants; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
