Scope Responsible for the timely placement of purchase orders and delivery of materials to meet customer order requirements and maintain stock inventory levels within approved guidelines. Ensuring open communication with Branches. Responsibilities • Purchase material for inventory and non-stock items for branches and customer orders. • Reviewing purchasing reports to ensure timely purchase of stock using the most economical vendor. • Reviewing warehouse transfer reports to ensure timely replenishment of stock. • Review and resolve Warehouse Transfer and Purchase Order exceptions, discrepancies and errors. • Expedite and follow-up open purchase orders and maintain up to date delivery dates in the system. • Communicate to BM, CSM or Sales Representative unusual or extended delivery dates. • Follow-up on open warehouse transfers and Purchase Orders including ones not printed. • Resolve accounting issues for PO’s and PORM’s issued where discrepancies exist. • Review lost sale and stockout reports and adjust inventory levels where appropriate. • Assist with stock rotations as needed. • Maintain beneficial vendor relationships. Education & Training • High School Diploma required.• Post secondary courses in Purchasing preferred.• Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office required. • Supply Chain certification, APICS, Operations or other related an asset. Experience • Up to 3 years related experience. • Distribution buying for multiple locations an asset. Requirements
