Spark Power, at trusted partner in power in North America, is actively searching for a Powerline Technicians (Journeyperson Certified) to join our growing Belleville Ontario team. As part of the team, you will perform a variety of tasks associated with installation, maintenance and repair overhead / underground power lines, cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting and associated equipment. What you will be doing as a Powerline Technician on our Team: Ensure that local and company H&S requirements and initiatives are upheld in order to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees. Conduct self in a professional manner with internal team members and customers, Installing, maintaining and repairing overhead and underground electrical systems, including power lines and cables, and street lighting systems, Connecting and insulating conductors and related wiring, Climbing ladders or operating hydraulic buckets when working on poles and towers, Ensure quality workmanship by conducting inspections of completed work which include analyzing drawings to verify compliance with job requirements and applicable related codes/regulations, Coordinate with local electrical inspection governance to have work correctly approved per the local code requirements, Inventory control; All other duties as assigned. What we offer our employees: Diverse and exciting customer base Continuous training and skills improvement Career advancement opportunities Relocation Fee Competitive wages plus incentive plan Uniforms and PPE provided Excellent benefit package RRSP match program ….and much more What we are looking for: Certification as a Powerline Technician Journeyperson, including successful completion of MEARIE or IHSA Powerline Technician Training Program (434A Red Seal Powerline Technician) or equivalent Be able to operate bucket trucks, radial boom derricks, hydraulic equipment and all other tools used in line maintenance and construction Be familiar with and carry out live line work practices and techniques on the systems including stick work, and rubber glove techniques Other requirements: Must have a valid Driver’s License (DZ or AZ) Must be able to provide a certificate of Powerline Technician qualification Must have prior training in the following: Working at Heights, Pole Top and Bucket Rescue, Bucket Evacuation Who is Spark?
