Spectrum Health Care is hiring for full time and part-time Foot Care Nurses (RN/RPN) in Downtown Toronto, Scarborough, North York and Etobicoke. The Foot Care Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients with foot-related health issues in clinic settings, retirement homes, Long Term Care homes, and/or clients’ private homes. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of foot conditions, with an emphasis on preventing complications and improving patient outcomes. Job Description Perform thorough foot assessments, identify risk factors, and develop individualized care plans according to evidence-based practices. Provide preventive care and treatment for foot conditions, including managing skin issues, trimming nails, addressing calluses, and treating ulcers and wounds. Implement strategies for pressure relief and offloading, particularly for high-risk patients. Educate patients on daily foot care, proper hygiene, and appropriate footwear, offering counselling and support to promote overall foot health. Follow strict infection control protocols and adhere to best practices for infection prevention, particularly when managing high-risk populations. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records. Qualifications Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care certificate is required Prior experience in foot care is an asset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Valid G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle Ability to effectively manage time and priorities Ability to work independently and within a team Computer knowledge and has the ability to learn proprietary software.
