Job summary
Location: Coquitlam, BC (On‑site / Tri‑Cities) Summary: St Laurence Anglican Church is recruiting a Children’s & Families Minister to help shape faith formation, worship, and welcome for children (pre‑school to Grade 8) and their families. For the right candidate, this core role can be combined with a Children & Families Outreach component to create a position of up to 20 hours per week. Core Children’s & Families Minister role (10 hours/week | $28/hr): Provide vision and hands‑on leadership for faith formation, worship, and pastoral care with children and their families. Develop Messy Church gatherings, children’s formation, and a culture of welcome for families. Collaborate with clergy, staff, and volunteers to integrate children into the wider worshipping life of the parish. Optional Outreach component (additional 8–10 hours/week | $28/hr | grant‑funded): Build relationships with families in the Tri‑Cities who are not yet connected to church life. Listen to the community, research local needs, and build partnerships with family‑focused organisations. Pilot low‑barrier initiatives that create accessible points of contact between families and the parish. Configuration: Candidates may apply for: The Children’s & Families Minister role only (10 hours/week). The combined Children’s & Families Minister + Outreach role (up to 20 hours/week).
