Data Science Intern — Canada | Remote Position Overview We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Data Science Intern to support data-driven initiatives involving analysis, statistical modeling, experimentation, and predictive insights. Key Responsibilities Assist in collecting, cleaning, organizing, and preparing datasets for analysis and modeling. Explore datasets to identify trends, relationships, anomalies, and meaningful business patterns. Develop and evaluate statistical and machine learning models under the guidance of experienced team members. Support the creation of predictive solutions for business and operational use cases. Conduct exploratory data analysis and communicate findings through clear visualizations and reports. Help assess model performance using appropriate evaluation methods and contribute to improving results. Work with different data sources and assist in transforming raw information into analysis-ready datasets. Document analytical approaches, assumptions, findings, and results in a clear and structured manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate business questions into data-focused solutions. Stay informed about relevant developments in data science, machine learning, and analytical methodologies. Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline. Understanding of fundamental concepts in statistics, probability, data analysis, and machine learning. Familiarity with Python and commonly used data science libraries. Basic knowledge of SQL and relational databases. Ability to work with datasets and interpret analytical results accurately. Strong problem-solving and logical reasoning abilities. Good written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working independently in a remote environment while collaborating with a distributed team.
