Main functions: To melt and pour aluminum into molds for the production of parts as per Standard Manufacturers Services Ltd’s policies and procedures. Duties Operates and monitors foundry furnaces used to melt aluminum. Fluxes and skims molten aluminum. Setups and operates tilt pours to cast aluminum parts. Follow casting work package procedures. Handles ladle molten aluminum into molds. Removes aluminum castings from molds. Visually inspects castings for non-conformance to ensure the quality of castings is produced. Reports any issues that might affect production to the supervisor. Finishing of casting through saw cutting and sanding procedures for gate removal. Completes work package documentation. Clean work areas and equipment. Support Standard Manufacturers Services Ltd’s Lean initiative. Working Conditions/ Physical Capabilities Shift 4 days a week 10 hours a day (Days or Afternoons). Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads up to 50 pounds. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Self-starter. Must be able to work as part of a team. Employment Requirements High School preferred but not required. Good understanding of the English language both verbal and written. What you’ll do
The Aluminum Caster is responsible for melting and pouring aluminum into molds to produce parts according to company policies. Key tasks include operating foundry furnaces, inspecting castings for quality, and completing work documentation.
Requirements
A high school education is preferred but not required, along with a good understanding of English. On-the-job training will be provided, making this position suitable for entry-level candidates.
