We currently have an opportunity for a Facility Maintenance Technician to join our Information Facilities team in our Linden Ridge location. In this role, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting facility issues, coordinating repairs, and supporting building improvement projects across our locations. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical aptitude, enjoys working independently, and brings a broad knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and various trades. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform preventative maintenance procedures and daily facility inspections to ensure operating systems run efficiently * Support branch security requirements by activating and deactivating building alarms and responding to alarm calls during regular work hours when necessary * Work in coordination with the Corporate Facilities Manager, raising concerns and providing recommendations as required * Inspect and identify problems, exercising discretion in requiring the services of a skilled transperson/service technician * Perform minor repairs for the branch and/or equipment when necessary * May assist in obtaining quotes and arranging for services and outside vendors as needed * Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures * Monitor cleaning standards and liaise with janitorial service when needed * Maintain facility (interior and exterior) materials and supplies in a safe and orderly manner for staff and the public * Support the branch’s Workplace Safety & Health Committee * Support staff in the delivery of products and services to members and potential members by ensuring the facility meets cleanliness and safety standards * Flexibility with schedule may be required QUALIFICATIONS: * Grade 12 Diploma * Regular heavy lifting will be required (approximately 30 lbs) * 3+ years of experience in facility, building, or property management * Experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs in a commercial, industrial, or institutional environment. * Understanding of workplace health and safety standards and safe work practices * Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, drawings, and technical documentation. * Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment. * Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests * Software proficiency in MS office and Outlook * Knowledge and experience working alongside a variety of trades and contractors would be considered an asset * Knowledge and experience with HVAC and Building Control Systems would be considered an asset * Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations when required HOW WE'LL REWARD YOU You can look forward to joining an organization that values teamwork and its membership.
