We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Occupational Hygienist / Project Manager – Hazmat & Indoor Air Quality to join our dynamic and collaborative team. Job Description: This title reports to the VP of Hazmat and VP of Indoor Air Quality and roles such as client/project coordination and budget management. You will play a key role in delivering occupational and industrial hygiene, hazardous building material and indoor air quality service/assessments/consulting across a wide variety of projects. Specific responsibilities will include: Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and regulatory body representatives. Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), occupational/industrial hygiene, designated substances, and other hazardous materials. Perform inspections of building envelopes, ventilation systems, residential, industrial and commercial spaces. Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed. Conduct onsite air sampling programs (proactive, reactive and sustainability). Technical report review and writing. Submitting timesheets and expenses in a timely manner Experience and Education: The ideal candidate would possess one or more of the following health and safety designations: ROH, CIH, CRSP or CSP and have a minimum 5 years of experience in occupational hygiene. A key asset: WorkSafe BC Certified Asbestos Surveyor. Additional preferred experience would include: Minimum 5 years experience in conducting indoor air quality assessments, hazardous materials surveys and abatement monitoring and project management Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a diverse team Strong technical report writing skills Strong organizational and communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) Availability to work outside core business hours – when needed Valid driver’s license, insurance and car are required (work-related travel will be compensated) Ability to self manage and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Experience in providing asbestos awareness training to property management and tenants would be an asset Experience in construction would be an asset Experience in using Vantagepoint would be an asset Professional Certifications / Designations Candidates should possess one or more of the following: ROH – Registered Occupational Hygienist CIH – Certified Industrial Hygienist CRSP – Canadian Registered Safety Professional CSP – Certified Safety Professional Preferred / Asset Qualifications WorkSafeBC Certified Asbestos Surveyor – strong asset. Experience providing asbestos awareness training to property managers and tenants. Construction industry experience. Experience with Vantagepoint or similar project/accounting management software. Experience managing diverse teams and multiple projects. Ability to work outside regular business hours when required.
