THE ROLE We are partnering with a well-established Canadian industrial equipment company specializing in the design, manufacturing, and servicing of overhead crane and material handling systems to find a New Equipment Estimator & Production Planner for their Scarborough operation. Reporting directly to the President, this role is approximately 60% estimating and 40% production/project coordination. You will take ownership of the estimating process, prepare quotes for new equipment projects, and ensure projects are properly planned and organized before reaching the shop. Working closely with the Shop Foreman, Project Manager, welders, and engineers, you will help bring structure and clarity to the division and keep projects moving. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator or technical professional who is confident reading drawings, working with numbers, solving problems, and bringing organization to a fast-changing environment. ADVANTAGES Competitive salary of $75,000 – $95,000 Monday to Friday, full-time, on-site Permanent opportunity with a well-established Canadian-owned company Company benefits plan High-ownership role with the opportunity to grow with the division Opportunity to make a direct impact on estimating, project organization, and production efficiency RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare accurate estimates and quotes for new crane and equipment projects Use internal and OEM configurators to develop BOMs, costs, and pricing Review general arrangement and fabrication drawings and identify required components or missing information Coordinate project budgets, materials, timelines, and production readiness Work closely with the Shop Foreman, welders, Project Manager, and external engineers Ensure projects are fully planned and communicated to the shop before production begins Identify and resolve issues independently to keep projects moving Maintain organized estimating and project information REQUIREMENTS 3–5+ years of relevant estimating or technical experience Experience in estimating, manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, or industrial equipment Strong ability to read and interpret technical, general arrangement, or fabrication drawings Good understanding of mechanical and/or structural concepts Strong numerical and analytical skills Comfortable using Excel for estimating, costing, and tracking Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through Confident working independently and making decisions Comfortable working with both office and shop-floor teams Able to adapt to changing priorities and a fast-paced environment
