Due to continued growth, our client is looking to add a Project Accountant to its collaborative Finance team. THE ROLE Reporting to the senior finance leadership team, the Project Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial management of multiple residential development projects. This position offers broad exposure across project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and development finance while working closely with Project Managers, Development teams, and other internal stakeholders. Success in this role will come from someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with excellent communication, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach to working across the business. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage the accounting and financial reporting for a portfolio of active development projects. Prepare project budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis. Support construction financing, project funding requirements, and financial reporting. Monitor project costs, budgets, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting. Support multi-entity and project accounting activities where required. Work closely with Project Managers and operational teams to provide financial insight and reporting. Assist with year-end reporting, audit preparation, and ad hoc financial analysis. Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, and operational efficiencies. Support various finance initiatives as the organisation continues to grow. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program is considered an asset but is not essential. Approximately 2–5 years of experience within project accounting, development accounting, or construction accounting. Experience supporting capital projects, development projects, or project-based environments. Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and project costing. Intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Positive, collaborative, and team-oriented approach with a desire to continue learning and developing professionally.
