We're hiring: Caretaker Be part of a team that helps make schools safe, clean, and ready for learning every day. Sturgeon Public Schools is currently seeking a Full-Time Temporary Caretaker for a work assignment at Four Winds. As a Caretaker, you play a vital role in creating welcoming spaces where students can focus on learning, staff can perform their work effectively, and visitors feel comfortable and respected. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness directly contribute to the health, safety, and well-being of everyone in the school community. Through your work, you help ensure that school facilities remain inviting, functional, and ready to support learning each day. Four Winds Public School is located in Morinville and is home to 400 students in grades 5 to 9. Students at Four Winds are engaged through inquiry learning. Thought-provoking questioning and guiding frameworks help students engage with, understand, and solve problems creatively and critically. The school offers many exciting programs, including French Immersion, Sport for Life, STEAM Academy, Performance Academy, and Band. The school's design is to enable students to connect with nature through an outdoor classroom, a learning garden, and an Amphitheatre. This assignment is subject to change based on operational requirements. What You'll Be Doing Maintaining The Cleanliness Of The School Through Cleaning of the washrooms Mopping, sweeping, waxing, and vacuuming floors Washing walls and lockers Removal of garbage Other related duties as assigned What Success Looks Like Classrooms, washrooms, hallways, and common areas are consistently clean, safe, and well-maintained. Cleaning tasks are completed thoroughly, efficiently, and according to established schedules and standards. Floors, walls, lockers, and other school facilities are maintained in a condition that reflects pride in the school environment. Health, safety, and cleaning procedures are followed consistently and responsibly. Maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or facility issues are identified and reported promptly. School staff, students, and visitors experience a clean and welcoming environment every day. Equipment, cleaning supplies, and custodial resources are used safely and effectively. You are recognized as a dependable team member who contributes positively to the overall operation of the school. What You Bring WHMIS and First Aid Certification an asset Experience using floor scrubbers and polishers is an asset Applicants must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted.
