Our client is an Alberta-based manufacturer and service provider supporting the energy industry with innovative, highly engineered equipment and technology. With a strong reputation in its specialized market and continued growth, the company is looking for a Service Manager to help build and develop its service operation for the future. This is a key leadership role overseeing field and shop service operations across Canada, with exposure to U.S. and international markets. The successful candidate will bring strong mechanical knowledge, a process-driven mindset, and the ability to build structure, systems, and best practices that improve service delivery, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Lead and develop field and shop service teams across Canada Establish service standards, processes, systems, and best practices Improve scheduling, resource allocation, workflow, and overall service efficiency Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Provide technical leadership and mentorship to service personnel Remain hands-on and directly involved with complex technical and operational issues when required Client & Business Engagement Develop strong relationships with key customers and participate in site visits Act as a senior point of contact for complex service issues and projects Work closely with internal teams to ensure effective inventory, tooling, and logistical support Support business growth through service excellence and customer satisfaction Performance & Improvement Establish and monitor key service metrics and performance standards Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and overall service profitability Qualifications 7–10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical service, ideally within an industrial, equipment, or field-service environment Proven leadership experience managing field and/or shop-based technical teams Strong mechanical knowledge, ideally involving process equipment, rotating equipment, or similar industrial machinery Demonstrated ability to build structure, processes, and systems within a service organization Strong problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset Engineering or technical engineering certification considered an asset Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician certification considered an asset Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to travel, including occasional U.S. and international travel Ideal Candidate Profile Mechanically strong with previous hands-on field or shop experience Confident, approachable leader who promotes accountability and teamwork Process-driven and entrepreneurial, with the ability to create structure and develop best practices Comfortable operating at both a strategic and hands-on level Professionally polished and comfortable working with senior leadership and key customers Compensation Base salary of $135,000–$150,000, commensurate with experience, bonus, plus a comprehensive benefits program and company-related expenses.

Requirements
