Brief Description Magna IV Engineering is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician or Journeyman Electrician to act as our Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Subject Matter Expert on a client site in Saskatchewan. This is a specialized, project-based role for a 4-month term on a 14/7 FIFO rotation. The successful candidate will bring strong hands-on electrical experience combined with the ability to interpret electrical drawings and apply that knowledge to isolation procedures, ensuring safe and compliant lockout practices across the site. Responsibilities Act as the site SME for electrical lockout/tagout procedures, working closely with client and project teams Review and interpret electrical drawings (single-lines, schematics, one-lines) to identify and verify isolation points Develop, validate, and/or audit site-specific LOTO procedures for electrical equipment Confirm zero-energy state and proper isolation practices are being followed in the field Work safely and effectively on low, medium, and high voltage electrical systems Support commissioning, repair, and maintenance activities on primary and secondary power equipment (circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, protective relays, etc.) as needed Coach and support site personnel/trades on correct LOTO application and best practices Complete technical reports and documentation related to isolation procedures and findings Collaborate with project teams and client representatives in a professional and courteous manner Identify and recommend process improvements to isolation and lockout practices Foster and uphold a strong safety culture on-site Requirements Red Seal Journeyman Electrician designation, OR Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma / PSE (Power Systems Electrician) certification Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience with electrical systems, including testing, commissioning, or maintenance of power delivery equipment (breakers, switchgear, relays, transformers) Willingness and ability to travel to a remote site on a 14/7 FIFO rotation for the duration of the 4-month contract Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings (single-lines, schematics) - essential for this role Prior experience with lockout/tagout procedures required; formal LOTO SME, auditing, or procedure-development experience is a strong asset Experience in industrial environments (mining, utilities, oil and gas, or manufacturing) preferred Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications Strong problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and client interaction Valid driver's license Summary Where Potential Powers Progress At Sunbelt Solomon, we believe progress starts with people — their ideas, their expertise, and their drive to make energy work better.
