Job Description A Welder/Fitter is responsible for completing the following duties: Assemble, tack, and weld pre-fabricated steel parts into the finished machine or sub-assembly using SMAW, GMAW and FCAW processes. Read and interpret blueprint detail drawings and dimension styles Prepare weld surfaces as required Determine welder settings as required Apply proper weld for given position and materials Verify final weld penetration and aesthetics Update paperwork to reflect any changes Operate and maintain equipment safely – Welder, Ironworker, Band Saw, Drill Presses, and other equipment, as required Follow safe operating and lifting procedures for jib and overhead cranes Keep floor clean and free of steel and tools, sweeping when necessary Other duties as assigned Qualifications Journeyman welding certificate – Red or Blue seal considered an asset Able to read blueprints Working knowledge of aggregate equipment an asset Expectations of Employees Embrace Core Values: Serving Others, High Integrity, Strong Work Ethic, Culture of Opportunity & Long-Term Relationships Maintain a clean and organized work area Utmost attention to safety Good attendance and punctuality Concern for quality Attention to detail Traits of Successful Employees Exhibition of good communication skills when working with fellow employees Ability to tolerate physical demands of the position Ability to complete tasks according to planned schedule Willingness to help out where needed Employee Benefits Weekly paycheck Boot reimbursements up to $155 Company paid prescription safety glasses Medical, dental, and vision insurance - company covers 75% of premiums Company paid short-term and long-term disability Company paid life insurance Paid vacation and holiday RRSP with 3% company match On the spot bonuses up to $100 Starting salary range is $68,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications Location: 26 General Manson Way, Miramichi, NB E1N 4A3, Canada
