SuperNurse | Greater Toronto Area to Burlington | Nights only | On demand, based on client needs About SuperNurse SuperNurse is a premium overnight newborn nursing service. We place Registered Nurses in clients’ homes to care for their newborns overnight so that new parents can sleep and recover. All care is delivered by RNs, with remote Nurse Practitioner oversight and clinical governance behind every shift. About the role This is overnight, in home newborn care. You are the nurse in the home while the family sleeps: feeding, settling, monitoring, and supporting parents through the first weeks postpartum. Every family is different, and you will be the calm, capable presence in their home at 3:00 am. Shifts are assigned on demand as client needs come in. We are currently booking nurses for approximately 2 to 3 nights per week, plus an expectation of [two] on call shifts per [month]. Shift times: overnight, typically 8 hours What you will do • Provide direct overnight newborn care, including feeding (breastmilk, pumped milk, combination, or formula), diapering, settling, and soothing • Support breastfeeding and pumping families, and handle and prepare breastmilk and formula safely • Monitor newborn wellbeing and escalate clinical concerns according to our protocols • Support parents with postpartum recovery questions and connect them to our NP virtual consult where appropriate • Complete clear shift documentation in our EMR and provide a thorough morning handover to parents • Represent SuperNurse professionally in a client’s home, including on Virtual Meet and Greet calls before a placement What we are looking for • Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (RN) • Experience in maternal newborn, NICU, postpartum, paediatrics, or community nursing preferred • Current CPR and First Aid certification • Clear vulnerable sector police check • Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid G licence. Our clients are located across the Toronto to Burlington corridor, and shifts are not transit friendly at these hours. • Comfortable working independently overnight, with sound clinical judgement and a low threshold for asking questions • Warm, discreet, and professional with families in their own homes • Professional liability insurance (or willingness to obtain it before your first shift) Contract details • Independent contractor. You invoice us for shifts worked. You are responsible for your own taxes, WSIB coverage where applicable, and professional liability insurance. This is not an employment relationship, and no benefits, vacation pay, or guaranteed hours are provided. • Nights only. RARE daytime hours • On demand scheduling. Volume varies with client bookings. We will always confirm shifts with you 48 hours in advance, and you are free to decline shifts that do not work for you. • Rate: as per hospital rate • Full onboarding, clinical protocols, and ongoing NP support are provided.
