Overseeing AP and AR invoicing & billing, month-end close, intercompany transactions, while contributing to the overall accounting & finance function. What- the Role: On behalf of our client, Swim Recruiting is seeking a Manager, Accounting who will play a key role on the growing finance team. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance. The new Manager will lead operational accounting for the company, including the AP and AR functions for the company. Overseeing month-end close. The Manager will also contribute to financial system optimization (following a recent ERP implementation), and internal controls. The Manager will work closely with another Finance Manager and will cross-train in other areas such as financial reporting and FP&A. This is a newly created role due to business growth. Responsibilities include: Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, billing, invoicing, and payroll processing activities to ensure transactions are completed accurately and on schedule, while communicating completion status to the month-end close team. Own and manage the month-end close cycle, including the preparation, review, and oversight of monthly financial statements covering the P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow. Ensure financial information is reported accurately and on a timely basis, including performing daily reviews of intercompany transactions. Develop and execute effective accounting strategies that align with and support the organization’s overall corporate strategic plan. Develop, implement, and maintain appropriate financial controls, policies, and guidelines to support accurate and consistent accounting practices. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting personnel, including the AP Lead and supporting team, through clear day-to-day communication, direction, regular team meetings, performance feedback, and ongoing training and development opportunities. Assist with initiatives related to the new financial system, and update process documentation and procedures. Who- the Candidate: We are seeking a self-motivated, hard-working, and detail-oriented accounting professional with strong technical accounting knowledge who shows strong potential to step into a people management capacity in future. CPA designation (or International equivalent). Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. At least 5 years of relevant and progressive work experience. Experience leading operational and transactional accounting functions, such as AP, AR, billing, and payroll. Experience using a sophisticated financial system, ideally an ERP. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to lead initiatives, improve processes, and support broader organizational goals. Bonus Points… Ideally the new Manager will live in the TriCities area! Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore, or Belcarra, or perhaps a nearby city such as Surrey, Pitt Meadows, Burquitlam, etc. Experience working in a complex and project-driven operational environment, ideally in an industrial or construction sector. Demonstrated ability to implement or strengthen internal controls and reporting processes. Proven leadership skills and ability to mentor or guide team members. Experience with financial system optimization and customization (this company is on a mid-tier ERP) How Much: Base salary in the range of $90,000 to $115,000, commensurate with operational accounting skills, relevant work experience, and when CPA designation was achieved. The Manager will work full time in office at first, while getting to know the business and processes and to build solid in-person relationships across the company. The company has a flexible/hybrid work program in-place and eventually the Manager can start to work from home 1-2 days’ a week.
