Senior React Developer – Capital Markets Location: Toronto, 2 days on site Duration: 6 months (contract-to-hire) Compensation: T4: $82-$92 | IC: $100-$106- PER HOUR- 37.5hrs Business Line: Capital Markets – Global Trading Solutions Role Nuances: You’ll start embedded in an existing team led by a development manager. Over time, as you grow in the role, you will begin to take on leadership responsibilities—gradually stepping into a lead role by mentoring one team member at a time. The goal is for you to eventually become the official UI Lead on the team, driving architecture, best practices, and technical strategy. As a React Developer on the BMO Clearpool team, you’ll be a key contributor in developing and enhancing next-generation electronic trading platforms. You’ll leverage your expertise in React.js to build highly performant, scalable, and intuitive user interfaces that deliver real-time market data, algorithmic trading controls, and rich analytics to institutional clients. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain front-end applications using React, Redux (or similar state management libraries), and modern JavaScript (ES6+). Collaborate closely with product owners and UX/UI designers to translate complex business needs into elegant, functional interfaces. Integrate with backend services and APIs to display real-time market data, order flow, and trading analytics. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code to ensure performance and scalability. Troubleshoot and debug issues in production environments. Stay current with emerging front-end trends, frameworks, and best practices. Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong expertise in React.js and its core principles. Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3. Experience with modern state management tools (Redux, MobX, Zustand, etc.). Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and asynchronous data handling. Experience with Git version control. Experience & Education:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Typically 3–5 years of experience in a front-end or full-stack development role. Nice to have: experience or familiarity with banking, capital markets, trading platforms, or financial data visualization. Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication skills – capable of explaining complex concepts clearly. A team-first mindset and the ability to mentor others. High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
