Systematix is currently seeking an experienced .NET Developer to support a major digital modernization initiative for our public-sector client in Eastern Canada. This engagement will support the continued development of a modern, user-centred digital service focused on improving how citizens, service providers, and government interact with important public programs. The broader transformation is focused on improving access to services, simplifying service experiences, reducing operational burden, and using modern digital platforms to support more effective program delivery. The successful consultant will join an established multidisciplinary Agile team developing and continuously improving citizen-facing digital services using .NET and modern cloud and DevOps technologies. LOCATION & WORK HOURS Location: Remote – Canada Work Arrangement: Remote Work Hours: Full-time, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Atlantic Time, Monday–Friday; 7.5 hours per day Start Date: November 9, 2026 Duration: Through March 31, 2027, with potential extensions Industry: Government / Public Sector The initial engagement is expected to run through March 31, 2027, with the potential for additional phases and extensions based on project requirements, approvals, and funding. THE ROLE – .NET Developer As a .NET Developer, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary development team to design, build, integrate, and continuously improve secure, scalable, and accessible digital services. The program has already delivered an initial set of digital services and is now focused on continuous improvement while delivering additional capabilities across a broader services-based roadmap. You will translate user stories, workflows, business rules, acceptance criteria, and integration requirements into technical solutions while contributing across development, testing, DevOps, documentation, knowledge transfer, and production stabilization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Design and develop secure, scalable .NET applications, services, APIs, integrations, and reusable components Translate user stories, workflows, acceptance criteria, business rules, and integration requirements into technical designs and development tasks Develop and maintain citizen-facing and administrative digital services using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, and related .NET technologies Build and support RESTful APIs, backend services, integrations, and shared components Develop and maintain containerized applications and support deployment to OpenShift or comparable container platforms Work within modern DevOps, CI/CD, Git, SDLC, and Agile delivery environments Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives Implement secure coding, code-review, logging, monitoring, accessibility, privacy, and regulatory standards Troubleshoot issues across environments and support testing, defect resolution, go-live, hypercare, and stabilization Identify opportunities to improve application performance, usability, maintainability, and operational efficiency Maintain technical documentation including solution designs, code documentation, design decisions, runbooks, and knowledge-base materials Provide technical demonstrations, knowledge transfer, coaching, and mentoring to project team members These responsibilities reflect the development, Agile, continuous-improvement, and handover expectations established for the engagement. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 3+ years of experience in .NET Developer roles supporting modern application development and solution delivery Strong hands-on experience with C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, and related .NET frameworks Experience designing and developing secure, scalable, maintainable, and modular client-facing applications Experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, integrations, databases, and shared components Experience developing accessible applications, including WCAG-compliant digital services Experience with containerized application development, such as Docker Experience deploying applications using OpenShift or comparable container-orchestration platforms Experience with cloud infrastructure such as Microsoft Azure Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Git workflows, SDLC, and Agile methodologies Experience translating functional requirements and business processes into technical designs and development tasks Experience troubleshooting applications, supporting testing, and resolving issues across development and production environments Strong technical documentation, communication, collaboration, and knowledge-transfer skills The engagement requires a minimum of three years of relevant .NET development experience, with particular emphasis on modern application development, accessibility, containerization, cloud, integration, and DevOps capabilities. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience integrating with Microsoft Power Platform and Dynamics 365 CE Previous government or broader public-sector digital-service experience Experience developing citizen-facing digital services in multidisciplinary Agile teams Experience supporting applications through go-live, hypercare, stabilization, and transition to operational support Experience mentoring developers and transferring technical knowledge to internal teams Experience working within complex enterprise or government technology environments PAY DISCLOSURE .NET Developer: $80–$100/hour AI DISCLOSURE We may use artificial intelligence (AI) or other automated tools to support parts of our recruitment process.
