You’ll build and strengthen broker relationships, identify new opportunities, and help drive profitable growth while continuing to use your commercial underwriting expertise. You’ll act as a market ambassador for Agile, representing our products, underwriting capabilities, and value proposition with brokers and industry partners. This role offers a great mix of business development, relationship management, market presence, and hands-on underwriting. In this role you will: Develop and execute territory and broker plans to drive profitable growth, retention, and new business, identifying niche markets and profitable classes of business. Build and strengthen broker relationships through regular visits, communication, training, and market updates, while representing Agile at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. Promote Agile’s products, underwriting expertise, and value proposition, sharing broker and market insights to support business growth, product development, and underwriting strategy. Underwrite and negotiate new and renewal commercial business within delegated authority, assessing risk, pricing, terms, conditions, and coverage in line with Agile’s risk appetite, guidelines, and carrier authorities. Manage referrals and partner with underwriting leadership, Operations, Claims, Marketing, and other teams to support business objectives and a strong broker experience. Monitor portfolio performance and pipeline activity, including premium growth, retention, profitability, loss ratio, production trends, broker performance, and quote-to-bind activity, taking action where results are below target. Provide forecasts, production reporting, broker feedback, and market intelligence to leadership, while mentoring junior underwriting team members and contributing to strategic initiatives. Here’s what you bring: Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Insurance, or a related discipline. CIP designation or progress toward completion is preferred; FCIP or another advanced insurance designation is an asset. Minimum 5–7 years of commercial underwriting experience, with demonstrated success in business development and broker relationship management. Strong knowledge of commercial insurance, MGA operations, delegated underwriting authority, risk selection, pricing, and portfolio management. Experience underwriting and negotiating commercial risks within delegated authority. Established broker relationships within the assigned territory and experience representing an insurer or MGA in the market are strong assets. Strong business acumen, communication, negotiation, analytical, relationship-management, and decision-making skills.
