Remote Family Lawyer Location: Ontario, Canada Work Arrangement: Fully Remote Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 5+ years of Family Law experience License: Must be licensed to practice law in Ontario About the Opportunity Our client is seeking an experienced Family Lawyer to join their growing legal team on a fully remote basis. This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer who is looking for flexibility while continuing to handle a sophisticated and varied family law practice. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience practicing family law in Ontario, strong advocacy and negotiation skills, and the ability to independently manage files from initial consultation through resolution. Key Responsibilities Independently manage a diverse caseload of family law matters. Provide legal advice and representation to clients regarding family law issues. Handle matters involving separation, divorce, parenting arrangements, decision-making responsibility, child and spousal support, property division, and related issues. Draft and review legal documents, pleadings, agreements, briefs, correspondence, and court materials. Represent clients at court appearances, conferences, motions, mediations, and other proceedings. Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice based on applicable Ontario legislation and case law. Negotiate settlements and draft minutes of settlement, separation agreements, and other family law documents. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other professionals. Maintain organized and accurate client files while meeting deadlines and professional obligations. Manage matters independently while collaborating with the broader legal team when required. Qualifications Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. 5+ years of hands-on Family Law experience in Ontario. Strong knowledge of Ontario family law legislation, procedures, and court processes. Demonstrated experience managing family law files independently. Strong advocacy, negotiation, drafting, and legal research skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment. Professional judgment and a client-focused approach. Must currently reside in Ontario.
