Location: GTA Compensation: $85,000 - $115,000 Reference # 16817866 The Opportunity On behalf of our General Contracting client, we are looking to add an established Senior Health and Safety Coordinator to their organization. The Role Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Senior Health and Safety Coordinator will support the development, implementation and monitoring of safety programs across the organization, while also promoting a strong safety culture. What You'll Do Collaborate with Managers and Supervisors to monitor compliance and identify safety issues. Promote and maintain a strong culture of health and safety across the company through health and safety programs and initiatives. Assist in the development and maintenance of health and safety policies and procedures and ensure that they reflect best practices and current policies / regulations. Participate in coordinating safety onboarding, orientations and compliance tracking. Take part in Joint Health and Safety Committees. Conduct field-level safety meetings, toolbox talks, and health and safety informational awareness. Conduct regular workplace/site inspections and aid in incident or accident reporting, investigations, corrective actions and follow-up activities. Assist in the administration, documentation, and management of the Company’s COR program. Prepare safety reports, dashboards and documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and enforce Occupational Health & Safety regulations and practices. Act as a liaison with all stakeholders, including the government, WSIB, management, subcontractors, clients and workers regarding aspects of health and safety. What You Bring 5+ years of experience as a Health and Safety Coordinator within a heavy civil construction environment. Post-Secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety. Currently possess a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation, or receive the designation within one year. Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is preferred. Strong knowledge, and demonstrated working experience with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Experience with COR and ISO audits. Possess demonstrated experience working with Return to Work and WSIB claims. Strong organizational and communication skills.
