Manage employee relations activities, including workplace investigations, conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary processes. Conduct thorough workplace investigations, ensuring appropriate documentation, communication, and follow-up. Interpret and apply Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and company policies. Partner with leadership to address employee concerns, improve engagement, and promote a positive workplace culture. Support employee advocacy initiatives, including fairness, consistency, and seniority-related processes. Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee orientation activities. Support attendance management, workplace accommodations, disability management, and return-to-work programs. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within the HRIS and prepare HR reports as required. Identify opportunities to improve HR processes through automation, technology, and AI-enabled solutions. Assist with employee training, development, and other HR initiatives as required. Maintain a visible and approachable HR presence within the manufacturing environment. Human Resources Generalist Qualifications Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field. Approximately 5–10 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist capacity. Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation, including the Employment Standards Act. Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters, workplace investigations, and performance management processes. Experience or exposure to labour relations, unionized workplaces, or structured employee advocacy and seniority practices. Experience working with HRIS platforms; Dayforce experience is considered an asset. Familiarity with payroll administration and processes is an advantage. Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset but not required. Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities. Proactive, solutions-oriented approach with an interest in HR technology, automation, and continuous improvement. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on, team-oriented environment. Candidates should have strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and experience with employee relations and investigations; manufacturing experience, HRIS familiarity, and CHRP or CHRL designation are preferred or considered assets.
