Role Description The Intermediate Prepress Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Dundas, ON. This role is responsible for preparing customer artwork and files for print production, including reviewing artwork, ensuring correct specifications, and making necessary adjustments for printing. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and imposing files, preparing CTP layouts, and coordinating plate making for label and tag jobs. The Intermediate Prepress Operator will collaborate with production and sales teams to confirm job requirements, troubleshoot prepress issues, and maintain quality and consistency across all printed materials. The role also involves monitoring deadlines, following production workflows, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Qualifications Strong Print Production knowledge with experience in label and tag manufacturing workflows. Hands-on Pre-press skills, including file preparation, layout, color management, and proofing. Practical Printing experience, with understanding of press capabilities, limitations, and quality standards. Proficiency with CTP (Computer-to-Plate) technology and processes, including file rip, screening, and exposure. Plate Making skills, including handling, inspection, and preparation of plates for press runs. Comfort with industry-standard design and prepress software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, imposition/RIP software). Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines. Effective communication and teamwork abilities to work closely with production, sales, and customer service teams. Previous experience in a print or packaging environment at an intermediate prepress level is preferred. Background with Digital HP Indigo prepress/presses an asset Relevant technical training or education in graphic arts, printing technology, or a related field is an asset.
