This position is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established menu specifications and quality standards. The Pastry Cook will assist with daily mise en place and production, maintain a clean and organized pastry section, support opening and closing duties, manage pastry inventory, and ensure all food preparation and storage practices meet sanitation and safety standards. Hourly wage range: $20.00 – $22.00, based on experience. Key Responsibilities The following outlines the primary responsibilities of this role, including but not limited to: * Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for service, ensuring adherence to menu specifications and quality standards. * Execute, guide, and assist in the preparation and organization of pastry mise en place and production. * Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring proper handling and storage of leftover items. * Open and/or close the pastry section as scheduled, ensuring the station is properly set up, cleaned, and organized. * Follow nutrition, sanitation, and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe working environment. * Stock pastry inventory appropriately and ensure ingredients are stored correctly. * Perform other related culinary duties as required. Qualifications * Post-secondary education in Culinary Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts, Hospitality, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. * Minimum 2 years of previous experience in a similar culinary or pastry environment; private club experience is considered an asset. * Valid Food Handler Certification required. * Understanding of various cooking and baking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. * Knowledge of health, food safety, and sanitation standards. * Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality and attention to detail. * Ability to work early mornings and a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as operationally required. * Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak, read, and write effectively. * Dependable, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a culinary team.
