Minimum Qualifications DZ, AZ, or BZ license with a clean driver’s abstract & CVOR Available to respond to call-ins within thirty minutes Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 lbs and stand for periods of time Preferred Qualifications Ability to drive manual transmission Previous experience in winter-works operations Mechanical knowledge, ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to equipment as required Good understanding of MTO standards and CDMC Contract Performance Requirements Compensation Data $29.32-$30.18/hr Day in the Life Our Snow Plow Operators are an integral member of our winter maintenance team. You will safely operate a combo unit, performing snow removal on local roads and highways as per the contract requirements. When you are not on the road, it will be important to maintain accurate documentation such as fuel reports, safety reports and hours of service as well as maintain and clean the equipment, conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs. You will familiarize yourself to understand route maps and sand/salt application rates and meet call in requirements during winter storm events. You will operate and handle numerous kinds of construction tools, handling performance measures, including pothole repairs, installing small signs and end treatments. Assisting in providing traffic control at work zones and accident scenes, including set up and take down of traffic closures, performing housekeeping duties to ensure the shop, common areas, and exterior of the yard are clean and safe will all be aspects of your role.
