Basic Requirements Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario; Bachelors degree in Nursing; Masters Degree in Nursing or Masters degree in related discipline with an undergraduate degree in Nursing; Minimum five (5) years nursing experience including dealing with complex, multi-system problems; Minimum three (3) years of recent experience related to care and education of patients with complex arrhythmia; Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and expertise related to care and education of patients with inherited arrythmias; Demonstrated experience and ability related to program development; Demonstrated experience and ability providing individual and group education (to patients, families, health professionals, organizations); Knowledge and skill related to the consultation process as it relates to individuals and groups in the outpatient setting; Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multi-disciplinary team in a variety of internal and external settings; Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem solving and decision making skills; Effective time management skills; Demonstrated ability to adjust to competing priorities; Demonstrated leadership ability; Demonstrated expert communication skills, both verbally and in writing; Previous research utilization and evaluation experience; Knowledge of computer software, including MS Office, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint; Knowledge of relevant clinical and professional practice standards and guidelines; Superior knowledge to complex arrythmia care in an outpatient setting; Advanced experience in reading and interpreting 12 lead ECG ; Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced). The Ottawa Hospital uses a 5-level language proficiency scale to define the required level of language skills in English and in French for positions at the Hospital, and to evaluate job candidate language skills. Requires a Master's degree in Nursing, CNO registration, and at least five years of nursing experience. Must have three years of recent experience in complex arrhythmia care and proficiency in both English and French.
