On behalf of our client, Scotia Law, we are looking for a Property Lawyer, Wills & Estates to join their growing team in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. About Our Client: Scotia Law is a well-established boutique law firm known for delivering exceptional legal services with a personal touch. Their reputation has been built on trusted relationships, responsive service, and a genuine commitment to putting clients first. At Scotia Law, legal expertise is only part of the equation. The team believes that taking the time to understand clients, communicate clearly, and build lasting relationships is what truly sets them apart. That same people-first approach extends to their team, creating a collaborative environment where everyone is invested in each other's success. As a growing firm, Scotia Law values people who bring ideas, take initiative, and are excited to contribute to the continued evolution of the practice. The Opportunity: This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with experience in residential real estate and Wills & Estates who is looking for more than simply managing files. You'll join an established, high-volume residential real estate practice while playing an important role in continuing to grow the firm's Wills & Estates practice. You're approachable, humble, and genuinely enjoy helping clients navigate important life decisions. You take initiative, work independently, and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed. At the same time, you're coachable and open to learning established processes that have helped Scotia Law build its outstanding reputation. Most importantly, you're looking for a firm where collaboration, trust, and long-term growth matter more than hierarchy or ego. You take ownership of your files, enjoy researching unfamiliar issues, and aren't afraid to ask thoughtful questions while continuing to build your knowledge and independence. Responsibilities: ● Manage residential real estate transactions from start to finish, including purchases, sales, refinances, deed transfers, and related matters ● Draft and review legal documents, agreements, and correspondence ● Prepare Wills, Powers of Attorney, Personal Directives, and assist with estate administration matters ● Conduct title searches, due diligence, and identify potential legal risks ● Provide practical legal advice to clients on real estate and estate planning matters ● Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, real estate professionals, lenders, and referral partners ● Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and professional obligations ● Support the continued growth of the firm's real estate and Wills & Estates practice ● Contribute to business development and community relationship-building initiatives ● Conduct legal research and provide practical solutions on property and estate matters Requirements ● Licensed to practice law in Nova Scotia ● Minimum two years of experience practicing residential real estate law ● Experience in Wills & Estates is preferred, however, lawyers with a genuine interest in developing this area of practice, are encouraged to apply. ● Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills ● Ability to manage multiple files while maintaining exceptional attention to detail ● Experience using legal practice management software considered an asset ● Entrepreneurial mindset with an interest in growing a long-term practice ● Strong relationship-building and client service skills ● Collaborative, team-first approach ● Self-starter with excellent judgment and initiative ● Nova Scotia Land Registration qualification considered an asset, or willingness to complete the required qualification Benefits ● Competitive salary, commensurate with experience ● Comprehensive group benefits ● Flexible compensation model based on experience and long-term career goals ● Supportive and collaborative team environment ● Opportunity to inherit an established client base while growing your own practice ● Professional development and long-term career growth opportunities ● Flexible work arrangements ● Full-time position based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia If the above information excites you and is a career opportunity you would like to explore, please apply through the following link https://zurl.to/CsQE?source=CareerSite and an enthusiastic member of our recruitment team will review your resume and related qualifications!
