PAID MEDIA STRATEGIST | Full-time, permanent Works onsite in Calgary, AB Work schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Mandatory in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Friday Remote optional days are Wednesday and Thursday About the Role We’re looking for an experienced Paid Media Strategist who can turn business goals into smart paid media strategies and then roll up their sleeves to execute them. This role combines strategic ownership with hands-on campaign management, analysis, and client advisory. You’ll own paid media strategy and execution across a portfolio of primarily B2B software and technology clients, connecting campaign performance to meaningful business outcomes such as qualified leads, cost per lead, pipeline, and ROI. You’ll bring a proactive mindset and strong judgment: knowing when to push, test, and optimize, and when the data says to stay the course. This role has no direct reports. What You Get to Do Strategy, Campaign Management & Optimization Develop paid media strategies that translate client goals into clear channel, audience, budget, and campaign approaches Own hands-on campaign execution and optimization across Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Meta Ads, and programmatic platforms such as StackAdapt Manage monthly paid media budgets of $50K+ across multiple clients, campaigns, ICPs, and channels, including forecasting, pacing, and spend allocation Build audience, keyword, retargeting, and ABM campaigns, including LinkedIn account-based targeting Develop purposeful testing approaches across audiences, channels, bidding, offers, messaging, and creative Use campaign data, lead quality, and business outcomes to make thoughtful optimization decisions and identify new opportunities Measurement & Reporting Set up and validate campaign tracking within advertising platforms, including Google Ads, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, and Meta Ads Manager Build clear, accurate reporting and translate performance data into actionable recommendations for clients Identify performance or tracking gaps and investigate root causes, partnering with Tiller’s analytics specialist when deeper Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager implementation is required Use reporting platforms such as AgencyAnalytics to create consistent visibility into campaign performance Client & Team Collaboration Advise clients directly on paid media strategy, performance, trade-offs, and recommended next steps Collaborate closely with Account Managers, Project Managers, Creative, CRO, SEO, and Analytics specialists to deliver integrated client work Define platform-specific ad formats, technical specifications, and requirements to support effective creative development Evaluate creative performance and recommend testing opportunities based on campaign data Stay current on paid media platforms, B2B advertising, privacy, attribution, AI, and emerging channels, sharing useful learnings that strengthen Tiller’s work You May Be a Fit for This Role If You Have 5+ years of recent paid media experience, combining strategy with hands-on campaign execution, ideally in an agency environment Proven B2B paid media experience; SaaS or technology experience is a strong asset Deep hands-on experience with Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads, plus Meta Ads and programmatic platforms such as StackAdapt Experience managing $50K+ monthly media budgets across multiple campaigns, audiences, and ICPs Strong campaign measurement skills, including tracking, reporting, performance analysis, and working knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager Confidence advising and presenting to clients and translating campaign performance into clear insights and recommendations Strong analytical judgment, with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple campaigns, and know when to optimize, test, or stay the course A proactive, collaborative approach to working with account, creative, analytics, and other specialist teams Bonus points for experience with ABM advertising on LinkedIn, AgencyAnalytics, Reddit Ads, Microsoft/Bing Ads, emerging AI ad platforms such as ChatGPT, and AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and NotebookLM Success in This Role Looks Like You independently develop and execute paid media strategies that connect client goals to the right channels, audiences, budgets, and tests Campaigns are well-built, accurately tracked, and optimized against meaningful business outcomes, not just platform metrics Clients trust your expertise and understand your recommendations, the rationale behind them, and what to do next You proactively identify opportunities and problems while using sound judgment about when to test, optimize, escalate, or stay the course You collaborate effectively across Account Management, Creative, Analytics, and other disciplines, raising the quality of Tiller’s paid media work Our Culture Tiller is built different. Workstations include a MacBook and an ergonomic sit-stand desk. Our 2 kitchen cafes are stocked with really, really good coffee. Compensation Base salary will be commensurate with skills and experience, with an expected range aligned to comparable paid media roles in the Alberta market. We review compensation annually against external data to stay competitive with similar agency, technology, and marketing roles in Alberta’s market.
