Role Description The Logistics Assistant is a contract, on-site role based in Canada that supports daily logistics and freight coordination activities. This role helps organize and track shipments, maintain accurate inventory records, and assist with purchasing and logistics documentation. The Logistics Assistant collaborates with dispatchers, carriers, and internal team members to ensure timely and accurate load planning, cross-border paperwork preparation, and resolution of service issues. Responsibilities include updating systems with shipment status, responding to customer and carrier inquiries, supporting carrier scheduling, and contributing to process improvements that enhance operational consistency and performance. Qualifications Strong logistics and operations capabilities, including Logistics Management and Inventory Management skills. Customer-focused mindset with solid Customer Service skills and the ability to handle inquiries professionally. Organizational strengths, including Organization Skills and attention to detail in documentation and scheduling. Basic understanding of Purchasing processes and coordination of materials or services related to freight operations. Ability to work effectively in an on-site, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. Proficiency with common office software and logistics-related systems; experience with transportation or dispatch platforms is an asset. Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; additional language abilities are an advantage. Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain support is preferred but not required. Relevant education in logistics, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
