The Toronto Cricket Club is looking for an experienced Part-Time Lifeguard and Swim Instructor (pm / evening/ weekends). We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join our Aquatics team. Primary duties: Swim and lifesaving instruction, lifeguarding and swimming pool maintenance tasks. An Overview of Key Responsibilities Provide a safe, enjoyable experience for all members and fellow staff. Supervise members and guests using pool and pool area. Provide high quality instructions of our Swim Program and Lifesaving Swim Patrol and Bronze Levels. Ensure the safety of all members and guests while in the pool facility. Maintain the pool area to ensure the facility is safe and clean. Enforce Pool Rules and Regulations and adhere to Public Health Regulation 565. Represent the Club professionally at all times. Participate in meetings, staff training, and Club events. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned including administrative tasks, maintenance and cleaning. Job Requirements Acceptable combination of education, training and experience with strong customer service skills Mandatory: At least 1 year of lifeguarding and instructional experience; current National Lifeguard Award; Lifesaving Instructor and Swim Instructor Award; Current Intermediate First Aid (Formerly Standard First Aid with CPR C) Additional Assets: Over 1 year of teaching experience, High 5 training, Swim Canada Coaching certifications, Advanced Aquatic Leadership and Examiner Awards (e.g., National Lifeguard Instructor, Bronze Examiner) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to motivate swimmers of various levels Responsible and organized with the ability to multi-task High levels of initiative and enthusiasm with the confidence to work under minimal supervision in a team setting be available & flexible in afternoons and evenings during the week and all day on the weekends Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club is an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing accessible employment practices that are in compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (‘AODA’). Candidates must possess at least one year of lifeguarding and instructional experience along with current National Lifeguard, Lifesaving Instructor, and Intermediate First Aid certifications. Strong communication and leadership skills are required to effectively manage and motivate swimmers of various levels.
