Job summary

The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Programmer, General Programs, this casual position is responsible for delivering various general programs to preschool, youth, adults, or adults 55+. The General Program Instructor I - Camps will be responsible for the following duties: * Assist with and/or prepare and implement program content based on program objectives outlined by the Town * Prepare course related materials in the facilities, teaching material and equipment. * Prepare program outlines, lesson plans and material for participants as required. * Provide program instruction/leadership at the appropriate skill level of participants. * Perform administrative tasks (i.e., attendance, preparation, Injury and Incident Reports etc.). * Maintain composure in escalated situations as they arise and immediately report incidents to the Recreation Coordinator or designate. * Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned. The Ideal Candidates We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are looking to gain valuable experience in a variety of programs with a current certification of Intermediate First Aid and CPR- C. A minimum of one (1) year experience in a program area is preferred. Experience working with preschool, youth, adults, and adults 55+ would be an asset. Certification in HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development is considered an asset. The candidates will have demonstrated ability to facilitate program delivery and have excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, organization skills with attention to detail. These candidates will also possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position offers an hourly rate of $20.89 with up to 24 hours per week. Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
