The Opportunity Reporting directly to the Programmer, Specialty Programs this casual position is responsible for the delivery of a safe and customer focused learn to skate program. The Public Skate Guard will be responsible for the following duties: * Supervise program participants and ensure their safety. * Assist in providing a clean, healthy, safe environment for the program and ensure equipment is stored as required. * Maintain composure in escalated situations as they arise; immediately report incidents to the Programmer, Specialty Programs or designate. * Perform administrative tasks (i.e., attendance, preparation, Injury and Incident Reports etc.). * Perform additional duties and undertake special projects as assigned. The Ideal Candidates We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are looking to gain valuable experience in a variety of programs with Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR- C and AED. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in hockey, figure skating, power skating etc. or a demonstrated ability to skate at an advanced level. The candidates will have demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service skills, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills. These candidates will also possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This position offers an hourly rate of $19.01 with up to 24 hours per week. Satisfactory passing of a vulnerable sector check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
