This job posting is for an existing vacancy and therefore will be filled accordingly. Job Responsibilities Management of programs and services operation standards. Ability to supervise and mentor part time staff and/or volunteers. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of HIGH FIVE standards. Demonstrated knowledge of health and safety and risk management skills. Understanding of municipal practices and the budgeting process. Familiar with Town of Oakville policies, procedures, and guidelines pertaining to all aquatic programs and operation Understanding of partnerships and community engagement experience. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with limited supervision. Demonstrated computer knowledge. Proven customer service excellence. Must be available to fulfill work schedule as contracted including evening and weekend hours and should be flexible regarding changes to schedules to meet program demands. May be assigned to various locations to meet program demands or to instruct swimming lessons and lifeguard as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Current within 2 years: LSS Swim & Lifesaving Instructor LSS Emergency First Aid instructor LSS National Lifeguard Service Award Current Intermediate First Aid with CPR C and AED (formerly Standard First Aid with CPR C) from a WSIB-approved provider, issued within the last three (3) years and valid throughout the term of employment. LSS Aquatic Supervisory Training LSS Examiner Status (to Bronze Cross) Other Awards Specialized Instructor Certifications and/or Trainer status including National Lifeguard Instructor/Examiner, Standard First Aid Instructor/Examiner, and Instructor Trainer. Waterfit Instructor is considered an asset. Certified Pool Operator Certification. HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Childhood Development. HIGH FIVE Quest 2 evaluation tool. Additional Qualifications Completion of a minimum 2-year College Diploma plus supplementary courses in Recreation or a related discipline. Two years aquatic supervisory experience and three years aquatic instructional experience are desirable. Successful candidates, who are new hires and/or who have not performed in this position previously will be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check, with vulnerable sector screening, dated within the last 30 days as a condition of employment.
